RACE DAY PARKING

Parking is available on the northern side of Marina Drive.

ROAD CLOSURE INFORMATION

All bcu Coffs TRI events are held on closed roads, ensuring a safe course for all participants. Please click here for a detailed map and click here for a list of local streets affected by the event. Village Sports apologises for any inconvenience caused to residents and appreciates your patience.

  • The Yacht Club, Marina and Boat Ramp will be accessible all weekend via detours
  • 4/3/18: Motorists who wish to travel between Coffs Harbour and Sawtell will need to go via the Pacific Highway.
  • 4/3/18: All Airport traffic will be via the Albany Street/Hogbin Drive Roundabout.
  • All affected intersections will be under professional traffic control and NSW Police will also be in attendance.

Please note that there will be traffic delays, so we ask for your patience & that you allow additional time for your journey.

2018 EVENT CHECK-IN & BIKE RACKING

Check-in is a compulsory part of participating in any of the events and will be available during the following times at the Competitor’s Village::

Saturday 3rd March:  1pm- 6pm

*Please note:

– check in for the kids races closes 30 minutes prior to each Race start.

– there will be no registrations on Sunday morning. 

Bike racking will take place on Saturday 3rd March between 4.00pm – 6.00pm ONLY, for Sunday’s Standard Distance event. Security Guards will be on duty in the transition area on Saturday night to watch over your bikes.

TIMING

  • Your timing band must be placed on your left ankle and worn for the entire race.
  • You must cross the mats at all timing locations to receive an official race time.
  • The timing band must be handed in immediately after crossing the finish line.
  • If you don’t race or fail to complete the course, please return timing band to the collectors at the finish line.
  • Any timing bands that are not returned will result in a $50 replacement fee charged to the athlete.
  • Timing bands are non-transferable. Do not switch with other competitors.
  • Do not walk over timing mats prior to the race, as this will set off your race time.

RACE RESULTS

Race results will be available on this website as soon as possible following the completion of the event.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

As a Triathlon Australia sanctioned race, Triathlon Australia Race Competition Rules apply to this event. We strongly encourage all athletes to read the Race Competition Rules to ensure that they adhere to them. It is the athlete’s responsibility to be aware of the rules of the event.

Triathlon Australia Race Competition Rules

SUMMARY OF RACE RULES

  • Practise good sports conduct at all times; no cheating, no cutting corners.
  • The Swim cap provided must be worn during the swim leg
  • The Bike sticker must be displayed on the seat post of the bike for the duration of the cycle leg
  • Bicycle helmets are compulsory. The bicycle helmet must remain securely fastened on the head of a competitor at all times once the bicycle is removed from the bicycle rack, while on the bicycle course and until the bicycle is replaced on the bicycle rack.
  • The upper Torso must be covered during the Cycle and Run legs
  • No drafting. The bicycle draft zone is 10 metres long (from the front wheel of the first bike to the front wheel of the next). Competitors have 20 seconds to pass through this zone
  • No blocking (keep to the left as far as possible to enable passing). Remember passing on the inside is illegal and can result in disqualification of the athlete.
  • Obey the road rules at all times
  • Do not cross centre lines on cycle course, this is instant disqualification.
  • Appropriate footwear must be worn for the duration of the cycle and run legs
  • Run: The Race Number provided must be worn on the front torso. Pins will be provided or use a Race Belt.
  • No iPods or music devices permitted
  • Bike security sticker needs to match the race number on your armband in order to remove your bike.
  • Familiarise yourself with the course – information and maps are at the Registration area.
